The unity between religions

One of his outstanding works was his book The holy science. He wrote the book in order to establish the unity between various religions. Sri Yukteswar explained that religions have been formed as paths to encourage spiritual progress and all religions have the same goal and purpose.

In his book, Sri Yukteswar suggested that every ones goal is to achieve happiness. People put efforts to find happiness through wealth, relationships or other means. But these external factors can only give happiness temporarily and conditionally. Sri Yukteswar mentioned that the natural desire for happiness can be fulfilled when we turn inside ourselves. Taking examples from Bible and Bhagavad Gita, he established that the basic message of all religions is same.
