Wedding photographers should educate their clients and why

Even though our studio offers all clients digital files, I do harbor fears they will never get around to printing them. This will lead them to losing an important piece of personal history. We provide all our clients with detailed information on the importance of archiving their files and having prints made. However, we can not guarantee if they will actually take our advice. It is important that a “wedding photographer properly informs clients of preserving their memories.

Imagine having all your wedding photos on one DVD. There are many scenarios that could lead to losing all your precious photos. One such possibility is the DVD (that stores all your photos) may only have an archival period of 5 or less years. We all get busy with life immediately following our wedding. This leads to procrastination and not making duplicate copies of our files. When you finally get around to printing your pictures it may be too late. What happens next is you find out your wedding photographer is out of business or even worse has perished. Your photographic memories are now lost forever!
